Academic Support
Students at all grades experience a well rounded and balanced American Curriculum experience, while embracing the MOE curriculum for Arabic, Islamic, Social Studies and Moral Education.
We follow KHDA’s guidelines for the provision of Arabic and Islamic teaching time, but make sure that Arabic Assemblies feature weekly in our schools pastoral care and character development program.
Students are placed in grades by their age, and follow grade level Standards from the US Common Core. Where students require additional support to access the curriculum the SEN department will work with families and teachers to ensure the students’ needs are being met.
Teachers work hard to know their students and their needs, planning extension and remediation accordingly. This remediation can be in class, in a small group or 1:1. Working with home support, we do all that we can to maximise student progress.
If you feel your child needs more support in accessing the curriculum please reach out to our SEN Department who will be happy to assist your enquiry: senco@mirdifamericanschool.ae
