PreK at Mirdif American School
Preschool is an important stepping-stone for children. Children are not only taught academics, such as shapes, colors, numbers, and letters, but are also taught social and emotional skills. There are 4 key themes: Wellbeing, Identity and Belonging, Communicating, and Exploring and Thinking. Each theme represents a different area of development for young children. This includes gaining skills, knowledge and values that will help them in their education and in their life in general.
Students at Mirdif American School PreK will explore through fun, engaging and interactive games, activities and songs! The teachers carefully create and plan magical learning experiences to ensure your little one has ample opportunities to learn through play.
Our Pre-K teachers have recently undertaken Professional Development to help them better understand how our youngest learners grow and develop and have carefully created fun learning experiences to engage and enhance their understanding of the world around them.
Teachers use a variety of different learning techniques to grow your child’s curiosity and exploration skills such as sensory play (sand, water, foam, finger paints), constructive play (using a variety of blocks, connection sticks, Legos and recyclable materials to build and portray their learning), imaginative play (action songs, puppets, role play all develop and enhance your child speech and language skills) to name a few.
